RAVE
I don’t know if these are a new item at Trader Joes’s or my store (NYC) just started to carry them. But after trying them once; there is now another item that I’ve “discovered”, which is on my Must Buy and the “Dangerously Addictive” list. Once you start eating these tasty crunchy sesame morsels its hard to put them down; Seriously I have to hide the bag from myself, lest a one pound bag mysteriously get emptied muy rapido.
I don’t know if I’d go so far as to call this a “recipe” but here is a great flavor combo: A Sesame Stick or two with a bite of your favorite TJ chocolate (mine, dark of course). Result is one outstandingly tasty treat; you know the salty, sweet, tastes like a chocolate covered pretzel kind? Even more dangerous this way. Don’t say I didn’t warn you.
Or just dip some into your favorite dip. I think they go good with Hummus.
Trader Joe’s Sesame Sticks $2.49, 1 pound bag; good deal. “All natural, no preservatives”
Have you tried these? What do you think?

I bought a bag today and found them greasy and salty. Would never buy them again. They left a residue of grease on my fingers, yuck !

Thanks for the linkback Rose. News: I went looking for TJ’s Sesame Sticks the other day, and oh so typical, did not see them on the shelf. Nor did I even see the sign for them. I’ve found in the past this may mean its now a ‘discontinued product’ which happens all the bloody time at Trader Joe’s. I’ll ask the Manager what’s up with this product. I’ve also used them like you suggest, as “croutons”.

I think the TJ sesame sticks are tasty, but waaaaaaayyyyyy too salty for me. I love my salt and am never stingy with it, but these sticks are overly salty. I’m done after having a few! So, if TJ wants feedback, please cut down the salt amount. Have had sesame sticks from another store, tasted great, no too salty issues.

I’m cutting down on salt too these days, and while I love these, i stopped buying them every time I walked into TJ’s. Better snacks that I’m now stocking at all times are, unsalted nuts and dried fruits. So now I stock up on roasted unsalted sunflower seeds, unsalted almonds, and organic raisins at TJs. All heathy snacks to keep around the house.

I think I really enjoy these, and I can’t seem to stop eating them once I start, but they have a slightly odd taste (perhaps sorta burnt tasting?) that makes me uncertain if they’re actually really good. Weird, but I keep buying them!
