RAVE
“Creamy, savory, and spicy (but just a little) “

I finally got around to trying this and I must say I was quite impressed at just how good this tastes.
This stuff is a great tomato soup, so tasty and full of flavor.
This tastes so good, like a wonderful tomato soup you made yourself. Really homemade taste. As far as spice level, while subjective sure, this is just a little bit spicy to both us tasters. In fact if you want it “spicy” I could easily see one just adding some of TJ’s superb ITALIAN BOMBA made with those same Calabrian Chili. I love that stuff.
I really liked this, in spite of the fact that I was expecting to find maybe quail egg size dumplings. Guess what? Not really any dumplings. I just found a few fingernail size pieces. You know what though? Really No matter. Add some pasta.
You can just ignore that it says “dumplings” on the label, as you won’t find much of them (maybe they broke up). This is made up by the fact that I just think of this as one of the best tomato soups out there. A bit creamy and full of tomato flavor with great spice additions. Lip smacking yummy. Surprisingly good for something out of a jar.
To make up for the missing dumplings, I just boiled up a bit of macaroni till al dente and tossed the cooked pasta into the soup (just a bit!) Sure you don’t have to, unless you want to beef it up a bit.
Yes dumpling are MIA. Easily fixed with some pasta if you want it more substantial. Just adding the handful of cooked pasta (I would pre-cook the pasta and not just add dry pasta though as that may soak up quite a bit of soup) Pasta that would work? Small shaped pasta. Orzo, macaroni, fusilli, bowties.
A jar of this an make a super easy week night meal for two with a few other things. So I recommend this as a great thing to have in the pantry.
One review I found on Insta says: “i love it so much. my husband & i think it’s one of the best tomato soups we’ve ever had ~ & we make homemade tomato soup, so that’s saying something! perfect amount of warmth/heat from the chiles”
I would buy this again.
