Trader Joe’s (New & Improved) REFRESHING CITRUS BODY WASH, reviewed

NEW ITEM – Health and Beauty Products

New & improved” – Trader Joe’s had this Body Wash previously but they’ve had it *reformulated and are re-introducing this Refreshing Citrus Body Wash.

It’s made for them “by a trusted beauty supplier”. Yesterday I was on the checkout line there, I saw this in the NEW ITEMS shelf right next to the line. My eyes were drawn to the bottle with it’s bright yellow orange color and friendly round shape. It went into my basket! They really know how to tempt us on that checkout line, don’t they?

I tried it the next morning for my wake up shower. First thing I noticed is that this body was smells very nice! For this guy frankly that’s what I care about most. It has a nice and yes very refreshing citrus-y aroma from ingredients that include oils of “orange, grapefruit, tangerine, and lemon and also includes vitamin C, chamomile, ginseng, ginger, and vitamin B5″. The scent is a light and natural citrus, and is not overly perfume-y. Lather was fine, neither too much nor too little.

Here’s what they say about the * NEW FORMULA: “In this new formula, you’ll find a trio of highly sought after skincare ingredients—niacinamide, sodium hyaluronate, and squalane—that help support the skin’s moisture barrier, leaving it feeling soft, smooth, and hydrated long after you’ve showered.”

I would say its a good product, especially for the price of just 4 bucks. I’m sure at say, a store like Sephora, a similar product would go for probably 3-4x the price Trade Joe’s sells this for? Plus its a nice big 16 oz bottle.

I am expecting this CITRUS BODY WASH to be very nice in the shower for the dog days of summer. Or frankly any time of the year.

I also like of course the TEA TREE TINGLE body wash, during hot summer days but the TEA TREE TINGLE is more “aggressive”. That’s good really tingly, which some people may not like, my wife find that a bit strong. This however is not tingly, just refreshing. Me I enjoy both.

PS (just for laughs, I googled one of those ingredients/words which I’ve never heard of in the list above — “Squalane is a lightweight, non-comedogenic oil that mimics your skin’s natural sebum. Derived from stable plant sources like sugarcane or olives, it deeply hydrates, restores the moisture barrier, and suits all skin types, including acne-prone skin”

(now I need to look up “comedogenic”!!)

$3.99 (16 ounce bottle)

I would buy it again

Trader Joe’s BRAZIL NUT BODY BUTTER

All of Trader Joe’s versions of body butter are good. My wife and I love the smell of their Pumpkin Body Butter which might be seasonal?

However I have to admin that this new one, Trader Joe’s BRAZIL NUT Body Butter, seems even better though than the other one’s. This has the addition of oils from “Bertholetia Excelsa Seeds” (aka Brazil Nuts) plus other ingredients from Brazil, like Acaî and Guarana. When we compared the Pumpkin Butter to this Brazil Nut Butter, this one has a creamier feel. It’s just a dollar more than the pumpkin body butter.

I even read online somewhere that this very reasonable TJ’s product ($6) is being called similar to a crazy expensive brand called Bum Bum Brazilian body creme which is something like 5 times the price of this one… Honestly I wouldn’t know about that, however my wife and I both thought this body butter was very creamy and smooth and it made our skin feel smoother and smelled terrific.

Trader Joe’s BRAZIL NUT BODY BUTTER is $5.99 for 8 oz. TJ’s also has two other related Brazil Nut products, a body wash and a body scrub. My wife and I said we’d buy this again.

“Thick, rich, and smelling of summer, this mega-moisturizer is crafted with an impressive list of ingredients, including coconut oil, shea butter, açai extract, guarana extract, and, of course, bertholletia excelsa seed oil—a.k.a. Brazil nut seed oil.”

Amazing 99 cents deals at TJ’s this Xmas

My checkout person told me during the holidays TJ’s puts on a lot of deals for 99 cents. Here are two examples of things I found today for just 99 cents each:

Gingerbread Man Kit”

Its one huge gingerbread cookie with packets of icing, candy buttons, and sprinkles that you add as customized decorations. The packages says “made in Germany” so I assume its tasty. For a buck, this is an easy and fun present for kids (or adults).

The Sample Station that day had these Chewy Eggnog Cookeis so I got to try them before I bought them (which were really tasty with the TJ’s coffee I had with them).

“Chewy Eggnog Cookies”

They are soft and chewy and have the typical spices that go in eggnog. They are tasty. They went amazingly well with the Winter Spice Blend coffee at the Sample Station.

Again,  TJ”s is selling these cookies for a buck. Who wouldn’t buy these to try?

Personally I stocked up on quite a few of both of these 99 cents steals, both to give as fun gifts and to put some in the pantry.
