Trader Joe’s MANDU Korean Potsticker Kimchi Dumplings (frozen)
VEGAN !
“Korean dumplings (mandu) come in an array of shapes and fillings. These particular potstickers are made with Kimchi, Glass Noodles and Vegetables with traditional spicy and tangy flavors from the kimchi which comes though in savory, piquant notes. They are best prepared in “gun mandu” style, crisped in a pan on both sides to create a textural variety”
These are Made in Korea.
These can be an appetizer or part of a meal. We ate them as part of meal, with rice, more kimchi, and braised Korean style tofu (dubu jorim). It made a great dinner.
I cooked these up as they suggested. Place them in a pan with about a tablespoon of oil. Add the frozen dumplings (careful!) and cook them until they look golden brown and delicious. This takes about 6-8 minutes, turning them every two minutes or so to get even browning on both sides. The dough will have a nice chewy texture. If you like them softer add a tablespoon of water at the start and cover, cook for a minute, then remove cover, and flip every two minutes till GDB
Serve with your favorite dipping sauce.
Here’s my honest review of these new KOREAN KIMCHI MANDU.
Very good job Trader Joe’s!
I liked these quite a bit. I think these are one now of the better dumplings Trader Joe’s sells and a bit unusual for the shape and filling and texture with pan fried. The filling had kimchi, glass noodles and other vegetables and is quite tasty with just a tiny bit of heat from kimchi. It’s VEGAN.
I made a good dipping sauce for them. I used soy sauce, rice vinegar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil and scallions. Make a nice sauce with your favorite ingredients or use your favorite prepared Trader Joe’s sauce you like for dumplings.
A one pound bag is $3.49
I would buy these again.
