“Mini Pretzels” with a thick coating of good dark chocolate. Sweet and a little salty. A match made in heaven folks. Love Them! A 12 oz bag is about $3.29. I would buy them again. There is also a milk chocolate version too (no thanks i’ll stick with the dark)
Trader Joe’s Ultra Chocolate Super Premium Ice Cream is a chocolate lover’s dream. This TJ’s ice cream is super rich, intense chocolate flavor that will satisfy any chocoholic’s cravings — and as a self confessed chocoholic I promise you I know what I’m talking about. This is a really terrific high quality premium ice cream, so good it can be a bit hard to stop yourself from having, “Just one more spoonful.” So be warned. Lest you find the 1 quart tub of ice cream half empty and wonder what just happened? It doesn’t come with a Warning label, but it should.
TIP: Sometimes I will grind up dark espresso beans very finely, and sprinkle a bit of espresso coffee over this ultra chocolate ice cream for one of the world’s best combos, coffee and chocolate. The bitter espresso matching perfectly with, and tempering the rich unctuous chocolate. In fact one might match a scoop of this dark chocolate ice cream with a scoop of the also outstanding TJ’s COFFEE BEAN blast ice cream to make another heavenly combination of coffee and choclolate ice creams. Uh oh, I’m getting cravings, just writing that.
Speaking of tempering, let this soften up a wee bit before eating it to enjoy the full flavor. Like any premium ice cream, it’s dense, not full of air like cheap brands of ice cream.
This super premium ice cream goes for $3.99 for a quart tub.
These are simply incredible, a must try for chocoholics. They are spectacularly delicious chocolate bars made with Belgian dark chocolate with a liquid-y center of yummy salted caramel. They come in a pack of 3 individually wrapped bars of 25gm each for $1.99. Imported from Belgium. SUPER WOW
OMG. This new ice cream offering from Trader Joe’s is to die for (or rather kill you?) It should have a label on it: Warning “Highly Addictive”. I frequently see none in the case, as people are grabbing this stuff up.
Tasting it, I found it overwhelmingly rich but it was hard to stop tasting it, putting my spoon back in and saying over and over “just one more little taste”. A few minutes later I noticed somehow a third of the box had magically disappeared. It’s chocolate ice cream crack.
This ice cream sounds like something Ben & Jerry might have dreamed up: “Chocolate Ice Cream with Chunks of Chocolate Peanut Butter Joe-Joe’s Cookies and Peanut Butter Swirl” – this a very rich dark chocolate fudgey ice cream with textures of stuff here and there (cookie) and the occasional swirl of peanut butter. It didn’t look like the package exactly but no matter. It is simply incredibly delicious and addictive if you are a Chocoholic, like your humble narrator. The combination of chocolate and peanut taste is amazing, and incredibly rich. Listen I am not saying this is the healthiest thing in the world to eat, ‘cuz let’s face it, it sure as hell is not, however every once in a while, you can tell yourself you deserve something special for getting through this difficult period, you know…. So if you want to satisfy your deepest darkest chocolate addiction, this stuff will do it. I promise you though that little pint of ice cream will go way quicker than you imagined. Maybe it’s a good thing they don’t sell this in the bigger quart size.
Trader Joe’s Super Premium MINT CHIP ICE CREAM (Mint Chocolate Chip)
Trader Joe’s carries many excellent ice creams and frozen desserts.
This Mint Chip is one of my favorite ice creams they have. It’s deliciously creamy with a great real fresh mint flavor that is cooling and refreshing on a hot summer day. Its loaded with little slivers of chocolate. The color is a natural, creamy white not a fake green that most commercial brands have from adding food coloring. Frankly the reason the box is a bit messed up in the pic as it was so good I didn’t take a picture until after we finished the whole package! We particularly liked this as part of a coffee float with iced coffee! This ice cream, or the wonderful Coffee Ice Cream they sell too!
I find MINT CHIP ICE CREAM is especially great in the summer time with its refreshing minty freshness. Not too mention Spring, Fall, or Winter!
Trader Joe’s CRISPY COOKIES filled with Belgian chocolate
RAVE
There are my new favorite cookies. They are just delicious, and frankly very addictive. I can tell you the whole box went quite fast chez nous ! Well, they are small and there are only 18 in a box. Though TJ’s CRISPY COOKIES cookies don’t have butter listed in the ingredients they taste very good and are delicious due to the fact they are so loaded with a thick layer of nice Belgian chocolate in the middle. The outside cookie complements the chocolate well and as you can see, the chocolate layer is as thick as the cookie. These cost $2.49 a box. I may have to buy 2 boxes at a time in future.
Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups are one of the best products TJ sells. These chocolate goodies frequently show up on “Best Things At Trader Joe’s” lists, and for good reason, they’re fantastic, not too mention dangerously addictive. I think of these as “Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups For GrownUps”. Don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy Reese’s cups on occasion but not like these peanut butter cups, because, let’s face it, these things are FAR, far better quality. These are the “adult” version of Reese’s. For one, these have better chocolate (and its real chocolate, the dark kind! Everyone knows Dark is the only chocolate if you are a real chocolate lover (count me in). These have better peanut butter stuff inside too. These cups are irresistible. I have an internal fight all the time, after eating one… “Umm, so good. I just need one more…” (I usually can stop at 2 or 3….or god help me, 4) But its not easy, they are that delicious. Sometimes you need a treat. Especially these days?
A one pound tub is $4.29. Would I buy them again? Just try and stop me!
I love chocolate covered espresso beans. The best ones that I’ve had are from Porto Rico imports, one of my favorite stores in New York City. I used to work a few blocks from Porto Rico and could pass by twice a week. The chocolate espresso beans they sell are two things for me. 1) Heaven. 2) Crack
If you love chocolate and love coffee they are too die for. They are $10 a pound but on occasion you catch them on sale for less.
So I saw these new product Coffee Lover Espresso Beans candies at Trader Joe’s and for just 99 cents (!) I said give ’em a try. Naturally not equal to Porto Rico’s masterpiece espresso bean candies which are their excellent freshly roasted espresso beans coated with dark chocolate.
These are “Not Bad”. The beans don’t have great flavor, they are not top quality at this price but they have some coffee/chocolate combo flavor. These are a bit on the too sweet for me. The brown ones in the package are OK. I was not crazy about the light color ones (cappuccino?). But still for under a buck, these are worth trying yourself to see what you think. Neither a rave or a rant, I’ll give these a “meh”.
